The Ark of the Covenant had come home to Jerusalem. It was set into the
place prepared for it and the offering had been made. Now it was celebration
time. One can almost hear it: lyres and harps, cymbals, trumpets and other
instruments of sacred songs; all raising praise to the Lord. No one within
earshot would have missed the news."Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations
what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of his wonderful
acts."
Psalm 105:1-2
Today we witness celebrations on television or live streaming to our
computers via the Internet. Maybe our telephones pick up the information and
we share it over Facebook and Twitter. In an instant we can join in the
celebrations from the farthest reaches of the earth. Just think of how it
was on New Year's Eve when one could go around the globe with celebrations
beginning with the fireworks at Sydney Harbor, in Singapore, in New Delhi,
in Rome, Paris and London, and finally ending in Hawaii. The Lord has done wondrous things for us; things we need to make known among
the nations. Today pray that our leaders and the people of our great country
will willingly acknowledge God's mighty works and power ... speaking openly
of them to others in celebration of His love and grace.Recommended Reading: I Chronicles 16:1-11- Peggy Gustave
