The Lord gave his life for all people.

You are of Christ, and Christ is of God. I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. I am his. The Son of God … loved me and gave himself for me.

You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. The Lord took you and brought you out of the smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are.

You are God’s field, God’s building. Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. Living stones, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood. They will be mine on the day when I make up my treasured possession. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. All glory has come to me through them. The riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.

On this Good Friday, please pray for President Obama's Council of Economic Advisors to understand that except the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.
