Human nature and common sense are sometimes like oil and water. It's human
nature, after all, to want to hide from others the errors we have made.

"He who conceals his
sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses
and renounces them
finds mercy."
Proverbs 28:13

But good old-fashioned common sense reminds us that it's best to get the
errors out in the open and deal with them. When we admit to an error, we set
ourselves in a position to learn from it. And which of us has not made a
mistake? When we hide the problem away, there will be a tendency to repeat
it later on. Isn't it far easier to admit it, analyze it, make adjustments
from it, and consider it as a lesson learned?

God wants the same from us when we err against Him. He calls it sin. For us
to call it any less is to make the matter worse. With Him to lovingly guide
you through, just confess it (He is faithful and just to forgive it) and
then ask Him to reinforce your learning. Then pray that our President and
leaders will never cover over their sins ... but be quick to confess them to
the Lord and receive His mercy.
