Music From The HeartA long time ago my good friend Black Horse gave me my first flute, it was
one of his most precious flutes. When I asked him how to play the flute as
he did, he taught me one of the greatest lessons in music. The best way to
learn to play your flute is making contact with your Spirit, then focus on
the thoughts that come into your mind and visualize how you can convert
those thoughts into harmonious musical notes, blow your breath of life into
the flute, and your fingers will do the rest, now you are playing through
your heart. Thanks to the success philosophy of Napoleon Hill, I was able to
create this CD. The most important principles I used were: Definiteness of
Purpose, Going the Extra Mile, Applied Faith and Learning from Adversity and
Defeat. I want to give special thanks to Odell Borg, one of the best flute
makers in the world. All songs were performed with his High Spirit flutes.

Dear Readers,Impatience is not a virtue. It can even become a vice if a person allows it
to overtake good, practical sense. It takes time for maturation to occur,
and in most instances it does not happen overnight. Trying to force an
outcome is like trying to remove a butterfly prematurely from the cocoon.
When you intervene and prevent the butterfly from strengthening its wings
during its struggle for release, you deny it the right to mature according
to nature's plan. Why is it when we are told to "wait and see" our impatience often gets the
best of us? We react when we should have simply waited and allowed time to
work its magic. Trying to manipulate the "desired" effect when we have
already put the "cause" in motion is as silly as stealing the butterfly from
its home. Things take time to come to fruition. Nature takes her course in
the external world, and the internal world is no different. We must
patiently wait and anticipate, really expect a positive outcome apply faith
until inevitably truth prevails. Sometimes what appears to be success is only a masquerade. If success is
taken from someone else before their success develops into full bloom, the
robber deserves no praise or adulation. There is no satisfaction in
delivering a thing you did not create or put into effect. Be certain when
judging a person's credibility that you ask Napoleon Hill's fact finding
question "How do you know?" The answer you receive will enable you to
separate fact from fiction, and even an impostor from the real thing. People who rob others of their rightful property never really earn it. They
only steal it for a time, and then in due course it finds its way back home
and rests with its rightful owner. The cause always produces the effect.
What goes around comes around. Feel the tug of universal consciousness at
your very core, and ultimately know that you can't fool anyone not even
yourself - for very long. Truth prevails, so be on the side of universal
truth and you will always walk on the sunny side of your life.Be Your Very Best Always,
Judy Williamson Every Act Rewards Itself
by Dr. Napoleon Hill "Every act rewards itself." That is Emerson speaking. We shall visit with
him soon. You realize, I am sure, that the reward of any act may not be a
"reward" as such, but rather a penalty if that is what the act deserves. The
act rewards itself, not you in the sense that is meant here, and so the
"reward" is fitting. This, you may say, is nothing but old-fashioned morality. Indeed it is. It
is modern morality as well, valid when man invented the wheel, valid when,
perhaps, man will invent the means to duplicate himself in a test tube. And
it is more than morality. I have shown you the Law of Compensation at work
in my life in the hope that you will stop and think of ways it has worked
for you. You will see these ways as manifestations of cause and effect. You
performed some action and that "got the ball rolling." But can it be an
accident that thousands of years of commentary refer to the fact that the
act of giving invariably precedes the act of receiving? That when we "cast
bread upon the waters" it does come back?We see the Law of Compensation as it brings us a better job, a sum of money,
an opportunity to fulfill ourselves, a meeting with someone who turns out to
be a lifelong partner in love and there is much we do not see. Unseen,
silent forces influence us constantly. Some are good for us, some are
harmful. This volume speaks on many pages of the solid, bread-and-butter
aspects of life; but it speaks as well of the unseen and the omnipresent. As
I show you how to be rich with peace of mind I also show you how to choose
the friendly, invisible forces rather than the unfriendly, and how to make
the favourable forces your allies. Now let us sit down with Mr. Emerson by candlelight in his book-lined study:
Every act regards itself, or, in other words, integrates itself in a
two-fold manner first in the thing, or in real nature; and secondly, in the
circumstance, or in apparent nature. Men call the circumstance the
retribution. The casual retribution in the circumstance is seen by the
understanding; it is inseparable from the thing, but is often spread over a
long time, and so does not become distinct until after many years. The
specific stripes may follow later after the offense, but they follow because
they accompany it. Crime and punishment grow out of one stem. Punishment is
a fruit that unsuspected ripens within the flower of pleasure which
concealed it. Cause and effect, means and ends, seed and fruit, cannot be
severed; for the effect already blooms in the cause, the end pre-exists in
the means, the fruit in the seed. "There is a third silent party to all our bargains." Remember that! The Sage
of Concord continues:Men suffer all their life long, under the foolish superstition that they can
be cheated. But it is as impossible for a man to be cheated by anyone but
himself, as for a thing to be, and not to be, at the same time. There is a
third silent party to all our bargains. The nature and soul of things takes
on itself the guaranty of the fulfillment of every contract, so that honest
service cannot come to loss. If you serve an ungrateful master, serve him
the more. Put God in you debt. Every stroke shall be repaid. The longer the
payment is withholden, the better for you; for compound interest on compound
interest is the rate and usage of this exchequer.

Have you ever been out with your kids in a restaurant, and
they grab the bottle of Heinz Ketchup to dump on their fries; only to
discover upon tasting it, that it is not Heinz Ketchup - the restaurant has
put a cheaper brand in the bottle to save money. The label does not always
tell the whole story, but the bad taste left in your mouth afterwards always
will. I'm sure we've all had friends or known associates who have bought
designer knock offs, be it clothes, watches or purses. They boast how much
they've saved, and how no one can tell the difference. They are wrong. The
people who make a living designing it, and the manufacturer who produces the
real product, both lose millions of dollars on the pirated products. In the
long run, they are the ones that truly feel the difference. My children and I have had excellent conversations lately on why buying
knock offs or pirated products hurt everyone. I bet you're thinking, "So,
what's your point?" I have been a Napoleon Hill scholar most of my adult
life, and the success of being his student is now visible in my children's
lives. They know that if they put their best efforts into everything that
they do, they will always benefit. Subsequently, I have well adjusted,
polite kids that know the strongest armour they wear in the world is their
minds. Through the understanding that success is a group effort, they
realize the importance of volunteering. They understand that to have friends
you must be a friend first. The life we all live in front of our children is analogous to a mirror; it
will reflect integrity and honesty if that's what we see looking into it. I
am a blessed father; my children have absorbed the image and are reflecting
it back in more ways than I could have anticipated. And this is why I feel I
should write this article. When my children grow older, I want important
foundations like Napoleon Hill's to still be around, and for any information
to be in the original text, not the pirated material. I often go to the Napoleon Hill Foundation website to see what's new; just
recently I saw an article about the authorized publisher of Dr. Hill's books
and courses. I "thought" I had eight of his books. As it turns out, five of
the eight books are not on the Foundation's authorized publisher list. Since
the books had been bought from a big-box book store, I was extremely
skeptical. I emailed Judith A. Williamson at the Napoleon Hill Foundation
with my concern. She was kind enough to get back to me, and yes, I
discovered that they were fakes, a strong word, but no other word does this
debauchery justice. One day, my children will get my book collection, and
these five will be more valuable as recycled paper. If you knew me, you
would know that this breaks my heart. The pride and joy of my collection was
the leather bound Think and Grow Rich, and it looks authentic right down to
the red book marker. Whoever coined the saying, "You can't judge a book by
its cover," never realized how aptly it would apply to today's modern world.
The publishing company of these books has gone to a very great effort to
make them look genuine. The Napoleon Hill Foundation does incredible work,
but that work comes with financial costs. This type of theft, and don't be
fooled by the term as this is exactly what it is, hurts the ongoing efforts
of the true writers and publishers to continue the work they have done for
over seventy-five years. Companies, who publish books under a disguise,
claiming authenticity, not only hurt the Napoleon Hill Foundation, but the
changes to the original text can completely diminish the author's original
intent. So how do we as students of Dr. Hill stop these "fake" publishing
companies? I think the only way to be certain that you have a genuine copy,
is by going to the Napoleon Hill Foundation website and taking a look at the
list. In order to educate and combat this widespread problem the
Foundation's crest is being used exclusively now to identify THE Napoleon
Hill Foundation's publications, and also on those of foreign countries who
license their materials. This is like a stamp of approval for the consumer.
Also, you can look inside the front cover and if the book is authorized by
the Foundation, the copyright information is on the inside as well
indicating that it is an approved copyright of the Napoleon Hill Foundation.
As for me, the camping season is coming up, and I will have a very good

for a number of multinational companies as well as being involved in some
very innovative small companies. I have worked in the capacity of Account
Executive to a National Sales Manager for all of North America. I grew up in
a very dysfunctional family situation but some incredible people kept
showing up in my life. My childhood is long forgotten and I have left it in
the in the past where it belongs. The goal for my children was to have them
live in an environment without the fear of violence, a place where they
could share their ideas and inner most thoughts without the fear of being
put down or called stupid. I have an awesome family and the cycle of
violence, alcohol and things that have existed for generations is ended. All
my children will be going on to university and have never been exposed to
the horrors that I went through as a child. I have been and will always be
their biggest fan for whatever they have decided to do. After writing my
article my daughter Madison wanted to edit it, she will graduate from high
school with her twin sister this June. Her sister Cassandra had childhood
cancer at seven years old and we thought she would not make it. She missed
tons of school due to the treatments and operations. The drugs that she was
on during treatment greatly affected her memory. Madison stepped up became
her tutor from grade four right through grade twelve and she still
maintained a over a 90% average in school herself, she is truly my hero.
Cassandra and Madison will both put on their graduation caps and graduate
together this June. My boy is no slouch either, he has athletic ability that
must come from my wife's side; he is always on the honour Roll at school as
well. My children volunteer with various foundations they have learned that
when helping others it helps them as well. All my kids are the kinds of
friends we wish we all had, they have learned from their crazy dad at a
